Real-time financial clarity for 4,000 small businesses — case study cover

// 01the challenge

The challenge

BrightBooks' accountants were drowning in "quick question" emails — client cashflow queries that each meant opening three systems. Their clients, meanwhile, only learned about problems at quarter end, when it was too late to fix them.

The firm wanted to offer live financial visibility as a product, but their data lived across two accounting platforms and a CRM with no unified view.

// 02the solution

The solution

We built a secure client dashboard that aggregates data from Xero, QuickBooks and their CRM into one live view: cash position, runway, upcoming tax liabilities, and invoice ageing. An anomaly engine flags unusual spend or late-paying customers before they become emergencies.

Accountants get an internal console showing every client ranked by attention needed — turning reactive email support into proactive advisory work they can bill for.

// 03the results

The results

Client-facing "quick question" emails fell 55% in the first quarter. The dashboard became BrightBooks' headline product feature, cited in 80% of new-client wins, and the advisory service it enabled now produces a new revenue line for the firm.
